The late Alan J. Shapiro started his own eyewear company, Europa Eyewear, in a garage in Chicago in the 1970s. This collection pays tribute to him - straightforward, honest, and charismatic. Alan J. was an avid golfer and moved to Scottsdale in 1999 - he contributed to the Special Olympics and the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Today, Europa takes pride in being owned and operated by its founding family, and takes pride in building an American factory in the midwest where local craftsmen take pride in the work they do.
